Waking Saints
Pocket-sized Waking Saints

I still remember the car phone that my Mom had in her minivan. It had a bulky black handle, over-sized rubber touch pad and a clunky charging station. Poor aesthetics aside, it was a life-saver for after-school mix-ups and on-the-road emergencies. Not long after the car phone arrived, I remember the magic of my original Apple computer. I was so emotionally invested in the fate of my family as I attempted to get through the Oregon Trail without losing anybody to dysentery. The machines of my childhood weren’t much to look at, but they fueled my imagination due the simplicity of the graphics and controls. This was the edge of a new frontier: choppy black-and-white graphics and flimsy floppy disks. Not a very sleek frontier, but what a thrill to be a part of it. Things have changed a WEE bit since then. Consumers can pretty much have a pocket sized laptop nowadays, with the ability to access multiple networks in a single click. It’s thrilling for musicians like me who are trying to independently market their music because it’s gives us the ultimate control room with all the bells and whistles. On my newest social networking site, Reverbnation, I can integrate 10 networking sites into one and see all of my stats and online presence in one place. Getting the info to make smart business moves has never been easier because of the detailed and immediate data that online networks can provide. I’m still waiting for the technology needed to create Marty McFly’s hover-board that I loved so much in the Back to the Future movie series. Anybody know if this is a reality yet?? How long does a 5th grade kid need to wait by the way? C’mon now! Today marks the day that Waking Saints takes a leap into the future, via the Android App Store. I am really excited to see this App launch because it reminds me of how far technology has come since I was just a kid. This really feels like the “Beam me up Scotty” stuff to me. If you have an Android phone, you can download the free App at the following link: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.reverbnation.artistapp.i142013 iPhone App should be available in the future. Let me know if you are interested and I will see if I can get it launched faster.
